DATE:SATURDAY, JUNE 28, 2008 - TIME: 9am to 4:00pm
Description: This class is for anyone wanting to learn to paint realistic portraits and/or figurative works. Limited to 12 students, painting size is 18” X 24” and a $50 Nonrefundable Deposit is required, total fee $200 including all paints and canvas. - Note: Longer class time - starts at 8am and will continue until 5pm. You may leave your materials overnight for the next day.

The subject is a young school girl standing in front of the classroom. Full COLOR portrait beginning with a tonal underpainting and opaque overpainting. We will paint the full face, body and both hands step by step. To save time, you will receive pre-mixed flesh tones and a canvas pre-toned and pre-drawn with the subject. You will also have instructions and recipes of each paint mixture and the process. DAY 1 will consist of painting the entire portrait using a bistre undertone and completing the background. DAY 2 will consist of completing the portrait using opaque paints to paint the face, hands and clothes. We will establish the value range and the drawing in Day 1 using liquin to expedite the drying time. By Day 2, we can apply the fleshtones to fill out the portrait using the underpainting as a guide.

Class is limited to the first 12 who send in a $50 Deposit. This is In order for me to give one on one attention to each student. Classes of this nature tend to be very popular and fill up fast.
